Sad to see the weekend end...

My weekend started at noon on Friday.

James went to Charlotte to watch OKC Thunder play so I had a sleep over at my parents because I hate to stay alone!

My sweet momma took me to get a manicure and we went shopping for new house decorations!
(My color: "I have a herring problem" OPI Gel)

Dad and I love weird movies so I rented Looper and we watched it together. It is an awesome movie if you like drama/suspense movies!

I work up Saturday morning and had a very healthy breakfast: Toaster Strudels. (hey, I added some kiwi to make it "healthy") Anything with icing on it is good in my book!

Saturday I went to a funeral :( and shopped some more!

James and I stayed at his brother's house Saturday night because James was working in the town where he lives. He cooked us an awesome dinner with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and bacon wrapped beef tenderloin! It was awesome!

Sunday consisted of packing, packing and more packing.... Only 2 more weeks to pack up this whole house!

My first friday letter.

Dear Jamaica, I miss you a lot after looking at all of those pictures of you yesterday. Dear Husband, I am so proud of you for everything  you have done lately! You are the best! Dear weekend, I am so happy you are here. This week has been... challenging and I am not sad to see it go. Dear Sean the Bachelor, just run... run away. Do not propose because it clearly will not last. The track record of the show is not good, at all. I love the show and watch it for entertainment but let's be for real, you did not find love. Dear self, stop being addicted to sweets. It is bad for you and you are getting out of control.Dear new blog friends, thank you for all of your encouragement and nice comments. It made my week so much better and brought a smile to my face!

Honeymooning.

Our honeymoon was a complete dream come true! We went to a Sandals resort in Jamaica called Sandals Royal Caribbean. I cannot express how nice the people were and how amazing that place is overall. We are planning a trip back there for our two year anniversary. As soon as we left I couldn't wait to go back.

We stayed in the big ATL the night after our wedding. We left the wedding at about 10pm and it took us about 2 hours to get to Atlanta so by the time we got there it was midnight. We were exhausted and our plane took off at 7am and we had to be there 2 hours early. Therefore we got a total of 4 hours of sleep. We looked awesome... NOT.
But when we got to Jamaica our almost sleepless night was totally worth it.

View from our room

Our First Night Out.

These guys made our whole trip! Theon and Jason at the pub.

Our days consisted of laying out at the beach/pool, playing volleyball and couples games, sleeping, reading and overall relaxation.

Our nights were filled with delicious dinners, shows, late nights in the pub and great times with our new friends.

Then it was time to go home, away from paradise. I had my last delicious nachos... seriously the best nachos in the world. So one week of marriage and seven pounds later we went back to reality.
But we came home to two precious signs from my best friend Ashley and my family... and wedding presents!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sandals Royal Caribbean. These pictures make me want to be there so bad. It was the time of a lifetime. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a honeymoon, it is worth every cent.

These are my confessions.

I linked up today with Catalyn at Confessions of a Northern Belle to share my confessions.

So here they are....

1: I confess that I cannot help but sing Usher to myself every time I hear the word confession.

2: I confess I bought my dog a birthday hat and present and made him wear it yesterday.

3: I confess that I eat something sweet (candy, cookie, cake) almost every day (a few times a day)... Those that work with me know this already.

4: I confess that I have many organizational skills... and very little organization.

5: I confess that my husband cooks, and I do not.

6: I confess that I am addicted to concealer. I have had dark circles since 2nd grade and I feel an extreme need to cover them up.

7: I confess that I read Reality Steve Spoilers in the middle of the Bachelor season... for the past 4 seasons to find out who wins before it is over.

That's all that I have to confess for this week.

If you have confessions to make, link up with Catalyn.

Weekend fun.

This weekend I took a little road trip to Georgia to my friend Rene's to pick out bridesmaid dresses for her wedding on July 13th. She ended up picking a beautiful one from David's Bridal that looked great on everyone.
It has been a long time since I have had a blizzard. We don't have a DQ close to our current house, but there was one in Georgia and I took full advantage. I didn't even feel bad about indulging in this tasty treat!

My weekend ended (sadly) with my precious hubby and his baby, Packer watching our favorite Dan Le Betard is Highly Questionable and The Amazing Race.
(I have a lot of favorites!)
Tonight: The Bachelor!

Misconceptions of Marriage.

I am in the season of my life when everyone is getting married. Before we were married I had so many misconceptions of marriage. I think this is because you only know what you see and learn from everyone around you. My parents have been married 37 years and they were such an amazing example of what a marriage should be. So I based what I thought my marriage should and would be like off of what I had witnessed from my parents. This is what I thought...

-I thought you ate dinner together, went to sleep together, got up together and got ready for work together. This is not the case for us. Our schedules are so different that this is not normally feasible for us.

-I thought you slept just like the movies.... but it normally happens like the picture below. James gets pushed off the bed on a regular basis.

-I thought you were all happy honeymoon couple all the time and all of the fighting went away for at least a year. Now don't get me wrong, we do not fight like cats and dogs but it is completely normal to still disagree and argue sometimes.

-I pretty much thought marriage looked like this, no imperfections.

Marriage is not all rainbows and unicorns. It is exciting and the most fun I have ever had but it is not at all what I expected. I love my husband. I love spending every day with him. I love being a wife. But everyday is not perfect. Some days I would rather cut off my right hand than do laundry and clean the house. Some days I want to cut off James right hand for something stupid. But everyday I feel loved and cared for. Everyday I have a man that will stand by my side through everything and that is worth it. That is worth all the imperfect times. I am so glad that marriage didn't turn out how I thought it was supposed to be, because perfect is boring and we don't like boring!
